Nina Shoshana Wish

Nina Shoshana Wish is an artist living and working in Bar Harbor. Originally from Blue Hill, Maine, Nina graduated from College of the Atlantic in the spring of 2011. For her Senior Project, "Spirit in Matter: Clay as a Medium for Chinese Calligraphy," Nina created a collection of ceramics inspired by her studies of Chinese calligraphy and Taoist philosophy. Nina's favorite style of pottery is the Japanese method of Raku, an exciting process which involves smoking pots outdoors in live flames. Nina is currently working towards her Maine Art Teacher certification for grades K-12 and apprentices with local potter Rocky Mann. |
