RABBIT, RABBIT!

On May 1st, a gloomy and rainy spring day became a riot of color and cheer at Sidestreet Café as we showcased the work of student artists from the Mount Desert Island Elementary School Arts Week!

Imagine spending an entire week of school making art? In late April, Students at MDES were just that lucky; with the help of Art Teacher, Carol Shutt, students spent an entire week experimenting and creating with color and a multitude mediums. Throughout the week, special guest artists from the community made appearances and ran workshops like book and furniture making!

During the event, MDES student artists worked busily on live-commissioned one-of-a-kind masterpieces. For $10 you could walk away with your very own! As it is our belief that artists should be able to make a living by doing what they love to do, the evening's stars walked away with half the proceeds.
Big thanks to Side Street Cafe, our talented student artists, Carol Shutt and all of YOU for making this month's Rabbit, Rabbit a great success! We can't wait to see you next month! (Wait till you see what we've got planned!)
